Bye bye...

This post is going to be in English, for the first and last time. Our adventure in New York is coming to an end, so this will be my last message on this blog. It’s been a incredible experience and I’ll never regret having lived in this amazing amazing city. So why are we leaving so soon? Well, here’s the thing: before Christmas, we were feeling kind of homesick for Europe and started – just for fun – to look at a few job adds and apply to couple of them, just to see what kind of reponse we would get. I guess you have to be careful for what you whish for, because before we knew it, Baptiste had received a great job offer at the private company SimCorp in Copenhagen! He accepted it and we will be moving to Copenhagen on May 1.
We’re now getting used to the idea and sure that we made the right decision andare starting to look forward to going HOME. As great as New York is, it’s pretty tough, especially work wise (I have 2 weeks of vacation a year, low salery, high stress and with the economy right now, the chances that I’d find a better job were quite slim). The everyday life here is very stressful and thinking ahead, it’s just not a place we would want to settle down. So eventhough it happened sooner than we thought, we decided to go for it and are now counting the days we have left in New York. We’ll be moving out end of March to go travelling in Argentina throughout April (catching up on the missing vacation!), before we arrive in Copenhagen May 1. I’m still looking for a job, so if you know anyone who wants to hire a language freak with a lot of interest in learning, communication and anything that goes with that, think of me. And while we’re at it, we’re also looking for an appartment. I’m counting on you;-)
Anyway, I’m looking forward to living side by side with my sister, my oldest friends and not to far from the rest of my family for once. Take care everyone, and thanks for having shared our NY experience with us! Looking forward to seeing you in Copenhagen:-)
Bianca
